AGSH Top 15 Defense’s in Fantasy Football

Our AGSH fantasy football rankings are finally here! We are starting up our very own league soon, and we will be posting the draft results with analysis shortly there after.
Defense is an important commodity in fantasy football. It can give you the advantage you need every week to propel you toward victory, or it can set your team back drastically.
You can’t draft defense to early, and you also can’t wait to long either. Try to draft defense close to the 9th, 10th, or 11th round after you have selected all of your top offensive players. Make sure you go after a defense  that can create a lot of turnovers, and rack up lots of sacks. These two things will give you the edge you need to squash your opponents every week.
Here is our inaugural AGSH Top 15 Defenses in Fantasy Football for 2013!
1. Seattle Seahawks: With an offense that has finally a stepped up it’s game, Seattle’s defense can hopefully enjoy a little more time off the field this season. The Seahawks forced 31 turn overs last season, 18 of which were interceptions. The Seahwaks defense ranked 1st in the NFL in points allowed, 4th in yards allowed, and 5th in turn overs. Seattle is by far the best defense out there, and if they can remain healthy, they will be a fantasy goldmine.
2. San Francisco 49ers
3. Chicago Bears
4. Houston Texans
5. Denver Broncos: Denver will remain a solid defensive unit again this season, and they have a chip on their shoulder from their loss to the Ravens in the AFC Divisional playoffs. The Broncos ranked 2nd in the NFL in points allowed, 4th in yards allowed (tied with Seattle), and 16th in turn overs. Count on Denver being able to force a few more turnovers this season, and now that Peyton has gotten his groove back the defense can spend less time on the field.
6. Cincinnati Bengals
7. New England Patriots
8. Green Bay Packers
9. St.Louis Rams
10. Pittsburgh Steelers
11. Baltimore Ravens: The defending Super Bowl champions have their work cut out for themselves defensively in 2013. With the losses of Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Bernard Pollard, Dannell Ellerbe, and Paul Kruger, the Ravens will be considerably weaker. And one thing that should be taken into consideration as well, is that their defense has already been aging for the past couple of seasons. It will be a rebuilding year on the defensive side, so don’t count them out completely, but also don’t expect them to be the once dominant defense that they have been in the past.
12. New York Giants
13. Atlanta Falcons
14. Dallas Cowboys
15. Minnesota Vikings
